Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Program

The CCAMPIS Program is authorized by the Higher Education Act and administered by the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of CCAMPIS is to increase access to post-secondary education for low-income parents by providing quality, affordable and accessible child care services while they further their education.

Eligibility

To qualify for the CCAMPIS Program:

  • Undergraduate students must be receiving a PELL Grant or be PELL Grant eligible based on the FAFSA Application. A FAFSA must be completed and on file with the UC San Diego Financial Aid Office.
  • Graduate/Professional students enrolled full time at UC San Diego may be eligible to receive CCAMPIS assistance pending verification of eligibility and Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
  • Child care services must be at the UC San Diego Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC).

Application

Applicants must complete a CCAMPIS Eligibility Application (PDF) during the quarter before the quarter in which you wish to receive funding. A renewal application must be completed each September following enrollment.

Fax the completed application to (858) 246-0921or email it to Jackie Gelle.

Waiting Pool

Submitting your application places your child in the waiting pool. When a child leaves the CCAMPIS program, a child from the CCAMPIS waiting pool will be admitted by priority.

Priority

UC San Diego low-income and veteran student parents receive enrollment priority. Families with the lowest Expected Family Contribution (EFC) are admitted first. When two families have the same EFC, families with the earlier application date will be admitted first. In accordance with EC Section 8263(b), families are ranked in priority order for subsidized childcare and siblings are not given priority over all of the other children on the waitlist.
